Groceries

Every man everywhere eats food.  All of God's creatures that are alive eat food.

Every man, no matter what social status, eats food.  And drinks water.  I like the water deal I'm looking at here.

I sent these two links to Gene Chapman because he lives in Dallas where they are running these tests.

No reply back yet and I don't expect to get one from him.  He's the grumpy type like Matt Furey but Matt is probably doing better financially and I hope Mr. Chapman is getting along good in the cash flow game himself.  My cash flow comes from my paycheck and my next one is due on Friday.

But the point here is that everybody eats.  And now we're talking about farming and ranching and the agriculture business.

From Daniel Webster 1828.

Agriculture

In general sense, the cultivation of the ground, for the purpose of producing vegetables, and fruits, for the use of man and beast; or the art of preparing the soil, sowing and planting seeds, dressing the plants, and removing the crops. In this sense, the word includes gardening, or horticulture, and also the raising and feeding of cattle, or stock. But in a more common and appropriate sense, it is used to signify that species of cultivation which is intended to raise grain and other crops for man and beast. It is equivalent to husbandry.

Agriculture is the most general occupation of man.

Husbandry

The business of a farmer, comprehending agriculture or tillage of the ground, the raising, managing and fattening of cattle and other domestic animals, the management of the dairy and whatever the land produces.

1. Frugality; domestic economy; good management; thrift. But in this sense we generally prefix good; as good husbandry

2. Care of domestic affairs.
