Do the best you can day by day.  Soon the Lord will call you home.  Who are the leaders of the world today?  Where are their blogs?  Does Vladamir Putin make daily posts to a blog?  How about Ho Chi Min?  Could you imagine Adolph Hitler sitting down each morning to write out a blog post for the people?  Well he should if he were alive today.  And what about all these gang leaders who are planning a hit?  Well they are certainly not going to sit down first thing in the morning and posth their thoughts to a  blog for all to read.  Today at 11 AM sharp I want Johnny and Sam to meet up with Norb and Stubby in the back alley behind Mike's Place bar and grill on the south side.  Make sure your guns are loaded and ready and go knock of Big Sal on the west side when he goes into Frankies to get his breakfast. To be a writer means writing words.  I've never heard of a writer who never wrote anything.  Matt Furey says you can write emails and make lots of money.  Emails are pushed out.  Blogs are pulled in.  Ther is a big difference there I think.  I'm still working my network engineering job plan and I plan on working it until they bury me.  Ten more hours today will put me at thirty for the weekend and then ten more on Monday will take me home to the magical forty for the week and I'll be heading towards another paycheck on Friday. The paycheck keeps me and has kept me and I hope for it to keep me at a good level of positive cash flow for as long as I can bring them in.  Once the cash flow stops you  immediately go into the dreaded decumulation phase and if you got enough to last you to your last breath then you give what's left over to the kids.  That's the way love goes as Merle Haggard would say. I would like to go to work on, and maybe I will, a Cisco lab that can be accessed by a good number of network engineers at work.  I'll start off with packet tracer and make labs for the NOC engineers and the network engineers.  I'll start a Cogent Communications network engineering lab.  I will try to build labs that mirror the network elements of the Cogent network and make up little labs to do.  The whole thing I'm thinking right now though is that I would like to build the network using the Cisco 15454 MSPP Multi Service Provisioning Platform and I don't know if Cisco makes it possible to spin up such a lab.  This could be easily found out by asking Kevin Wallace which I may send him an email from work tomorrow sometime during my ten hours in the office on a Sunday.  I hear the old man is coming in for a meeting on Tuesday and he wants to see some heads on a platter.

To be a successful writer you have to write.  To be a successful businessman you have to work at your business.  You have to make a decision on what business you are going to work at and then go to work.  I made a decision a long time ago to work at a career in the telecommunications industry and then to go more specifically into the world of TCP/IP following the Cisco routing and switching certification track in conjunction with working my job as a network engineer. I would say it has not been a total failure.  In conjunction with the Dave Ramsey baby steps program it has gotten me to a fairly comfortable position in the united States of America standing on the work of all of those who came before me most significantly Jesus Christ then my mother and father and then all of the great men of this  great country going all the way back to George Washington and Christopher Columbus.  God bless America. Sold ten hours of my time to the company yesterday.  Contracted to sell ten more today.  Then ten on Sunday and another ten on Monday and I'm looking at a new month and another paycheck come Friday.  Thoreau said most men live lives of quiet desperation.  I like living a quiet life of desperation.  It suits me just fine.  If I can write out more checks to preachers who keep preachin' and the good Lord forgives me of my sins then a quiet life of desperation is just fine with me. I'm selling a weight loss program right here and it only costs one dollar.  Leave a comment and I'll tell you where to send the money.  If you are fat and obese and you need to drop some weight I've got news for you.  Stop eating.  This is not the easiest thing to do especially on a Friday in the office.  There is a high likelihood that there could be some lunch catering leftovers from the A team.  Possibly some pizza.  And one time there were even quite a few donuts in the sales folks break room on the fourth floor that I gladly accommodated and the breakage was due to a good weigh-in number on that Friday morning before work. So I am only in month number three on the new job.  Getting in to the groove.  Takes time.  Takes time.  And I've got all the time there is. So my cash flow comes from a job.  And get a job is the only thing I've ever known in regards to cash flow.  And like many men it is all we will ever know.  Work the job, bank the paycheck, and repeat until able to stop if ever and that's not a bad life especially if you have a good job in fiber optic network transmission like I do.  Heck my life is just as good as Dave Schaeffer's live and at half the cost and worry.  I can't imagine what it would be like to be in his shoes at sixty-seven years of age.  I hope to still be working for him when I turn sixty-seven which is only seven years from now. I'm going in to work now for my four tens over the weekend.  Not a bad deal actually.  Beats diggin' ditches in the rain by a long ways.  I like to say it's just like prison only a lot better.  And boy howdy there's probably a lot of young guys out there with nine kids and a wife who would like to be enjoying the positive cash flow that I am enjoying today.  Pe

Or at least some do.  Does your church have building plans?  I think the Denver Catholics on East Colfax Avenue down by the Colorado state capitol building had building plans back in the 19th century.  But they have not had any building plans since as well there really could be no need for future building plans once you have completed the cathedral. Are you building your business for God?  Then your business is a church.  Will you go 501(c)3?  Or will you go like Pastor Chuck Baldwin in Kalispell? It almost seems that it is axiomatic to me that if everything I do is for God, then my business is a church.  So does that not mean that here in the united States of America, that I don't pay any income taxes?  I'll need to talk with Pastor Tony Spell and Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne and maybe even once again to Pastor Chuck Baldwin in Kalispell. So it always comes back to cash flow here at the goo-roo watch blog.  And I will premise here and now that if I  am  ever going to generate additional cash flow above and beyond my paycheck I am first going to need to decide on a business plan.  This takes researching various business opportunities and filtering them down to one and then planning on how you are going to do that one. Well as you can see from previous posts I have looked at quite a few.  And I have looked at and tried many over the course of my sixty years.  And at this point in time I have currently got Mr. Nick Fullmer and his Overage Refund business at the top of my list. It seems to me that the plan is feasible and from what Mr. Fullmer says it is practically as guaranteed as Dave Ramsey's baby steps program.  And like the baby step program it requires time and effort.  And it requires work. And work boils down to time.  To hours.  Hours spent working on the business plan.   So I am ruminating on how many hours p

If I ever make the big time, if my dreams came true, and if Hollywood didn't need me, and I had the revenue, I would announce from my nursing home The Reston Virginia Scholarship.  Available to one select young man or young woman.  Discriminating on age?  Yes.  Yes I am. I would say this young man or woman would need to be sixteen or seventeen years old.  Getting close to becoming a legal adult as I like to run a business on the legal side of things.  The winner of the scholarship will need to be of legal age, preferably having just recently gained the accommodation. Don't follow anybody who doesn't give you a daily report.  Jesus gives you a daily report in his word.  It is up to you to get up and read the daily report every day.  Today he is teaching me about how the tribes of Israel split into to factions in first Kings.  The road goes on forever and the highway never ends. Elected officials should be required by law to give a daily report to their constituents.  I'm trying to get Matt Lang into the Virginia state senate but that is a big money game.  I wonder how much money he is spending on his campaign.  I think it must be public record. A man who is working one hundred sixty-eight hours a week to make ends meet and feed his kids and make sure his family has a roof over their heads and enough of the comforts of life to be happy will not have much time to give anybody a daily report.  But he should read the only daily report that matters regardless even if reading it on his breaks  at work riding on the back of a trash truck.  Tryi

Well he's got a good story. Says he was making less than $40,000 a year at the prison. Seems like a legitimate thing I guess.   I mean there's an Elmer James right there.  He had cancer.  He's making money.  Elmer James right there. Here's an incredible idea.  And I could do it myself without any help if I could get my own personal cash flow to a certain level.  That's why in this incredible idea I am the student and the teacher.  At this point in time it is a one man show.  But here is the idea. A  school for young men.  Let the women run the school for young ladies.  It's a one room classroom.  I don't care what your age is.  I know there are younger boys who could run circles around older boys academically and some even physically in sports competition.  So the idea is that every student competes with every other student regardless of age.  Kind of like in chess but they do have age divisions in chess but a young Bobby Fischer could beat the pants off of a lot of old men in the game of chess.
